Abdullah is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Humanitarian Response & Development Foundation (HRDF). With more than fifteen years of experience in education, WASH, livelihoods, emergency response, and community development, he brings both strategic leadership and extensive field experience to HRDF’s mission.
Before establishing HRDF, Abdullah served in senior roles with UNOPS, UNFPA, IRC, ACTED, BRAC, the Beaconhouse School System, TCF, and the Charter for Compassion. During this time, he led and supported programs funded by USAID, UNICEF, UNFPA, FCDO, and the Sindh Education Foundation, strengthening his expertise in donor compliance, program quality, and community-driven development. Under his leadership, he has contributed to large-scale initiatives across Pakistan, including the establishment of more than 900 non-formal education centers, supporting 11,000 learners into formal schooling and enabling 7,500 youth to pursue TVET opportunities. His efforts have also improved access to education for over 12,000 out-of-school girls, expanded WASH and DRR capacity for communities, and guided emergency relief for thousands of families affected by floods and displacement. Abdullah holds master’s degrees in Sociology and Education. His leadership approach emphasizes participation, transparency, and long-term partnerships, ensuring that HRDF’s work remains aligned with humanitarian principles and development standards.

Uzma has worked with multiple national and international organizations, contributing to large-scale advocacy, monitoring & evaluation, risk communication, and grassroots mobilization efforts. Manzoor Hussain
Community Infrastructure Advisor
Manzoor Hussain is an experienced WASH and community infrastructure professional with more than 15 years of field experience across Pakistan. His work has supported communities in flood-affected districts, desert regions, IDP settlements and remote rural areas, helping them gain access to safe water, better sanitation and stronger, more resilient structures.
THe has worked with UN agencies and international NGOs, where he has led technical assessments, developed engineering designs, supervised construction activities and guided teams through planning, implementation and monitoring. Manzoor has a solid command of BoQs, tendering, contractor management, HSSE compliance and water quality testing. His approach is practical, detail-oriented and grounded in what works best for the communities he serves. What sets Manzoor apart is his ability to connect the technical side of engineering with the everyday realities of the people on the ground. He works closely with local authorities, school staff, community groups and field teams, ensuring that every intervention is safe, sustainable and easy to maintain. Manzoor holds a B.Tech (Hons) in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. He speaks English, Urdu, Sindhi, Pashto and basic Dhatki.

Aqsa has contributed to a range of programs in education, WASH, HR and administration, TVET employability, and community mobilization. She has supported the establishment of non-formal education centers, helped mainstream thousands of learners into schools and vocational pathways, trained School Management Committees, and led community engagement efforts in both rural and urban settings. Her experience also includes HR operations, safeguarding support, data management, and program coordination across multiple districts in Sindh. What sets Aqsa apart is her ability to connect with communities, especially women and girls, and create safe and encouraging environments for their participation. She is known for her thoughtful communication style, her problem-solving approach, and her commitment to making systems more responsive and people-focused.
